Ruby Mae’s Wish is a charity that has been created by Nick & Kim Peake after the unexpected passing of their beautiful daughter Ruby Mae (forever 4) in April 2022.
The charity has been established as a way for Ruby’s spirit to live on through helping Children’s Hospitals by purchasing essentials and often life-saving medical equipment for sick and injured kids that visit Paediatric Wards, Neonatal Units, Maternity and emergency departments in hospitals across Australia.
Ruby’s parents are motivated to honour their beautiful daughter’s memory through Ruby Mae’s Wish by giving back to the health care system that tried everything they could to help Ruby when it was needed the most. It is important to them to help other children and families that might find themselves in hospital for whatever the reasons.
Nick, Kim and their children (Ruby, Holly & Barney) are unfortunately not strangers to the hospital system with all 3 of their children needing treatment and operations from a very young age due to a hereditary disease (Hirschsprung’s). As the family is from a small country town in NSW they also wanted help create awareness around the resources that are and can be available to regional and remote areas, as they have seen firsthand what donated equipment means to the doctors and nurses treating the children and also what the right equipment can mean for the treatment for the children and their families.
As Ruby always told everyone that she wanted to be a doctor (or a mermaid), the direction of the charity was an easy choice to help keep Ruby’s dreams live on. Whether you live in the country or the city every life matters and with your support (no matter big or small – every cent counts) we will work towards continuing to provide equipment and resources to help sick kids.
